Tourism Flanders has awarded the very first 'M label' to Thor Central. As a result, the Genk conference location at Thor Park is officially an "accessible meeting infrastructure" for wheelchair users and for people with a hearing or visual impairment.
Another great recognition and a special first, because Thor Central is a protected monument.
"We are therefore proud to be the first venue in Flanders to carry the M-Label of Tourism Flanders."
In addition to the necessary infrastructural adjustments, efforts were also made in many other areas to be able to organize integrally accessible conferences and other MICE activities. Below an overview:
This four-star hotel in Genk, which is part of the Different Hotel Group, recently acquired an accessibility label and invested in a new, accessible and care-friendly hotel room over the past year. Attention was paid to extra facilities, such as a minibar with temperature control for storing medicines. The starting point in this room is to offer both the care tourist and the care provider maximum comfort during their stay; think of sliding doors, an electronically operated bed, a stand-on-sofa, etc. The furnishings and interior of this room have been carefully designed so that this room can be used multifunctionally, for tourists with and without care needs. The fourth floor has been completely converted into accessible and care-friendly hotel rooms.
